Oceanographic Instrumentation Technician
Job Description
You will perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance on shipboard oceanographic instrumentation, including data acquisition systems, bathymetry subsystems, multi-beam echo sounders, and various sensor suites.
You will conduct operational checks, tuning and adjusting electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance and data quality during the mission.
You will troubleshoot and isolate complex electronic component failures and malfunctions in a wide variety of specialized systems where no fixed patterns exist.
You will review and update existing documents including drawings, circuit diagrams, and detailed procedures, to ensure they are accurate and adequate for maintaining an effective maintenance program.
You will function as a key maintenance figure for the assigned platform, executing the 3M (maintenance and material management) program and ensuring compliance with all applicable instructions.
