Now Hiring: Outdoor Pool Desk Attendants – Leola Community PoolJoin the YMCA team this summer as an Outdoor Pool Desk Attendant at Leola Community Pool! Be the friendly first point of contact for members and guests while helping create a welcoming and enjoyable pool experience.We're looking for customer-focused individuals who enjoy working with people and supporting daily pool operations.ScheduleSeasonal summer positionHours available between 11:30 AM–7:00 PM, dailyPOSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Inform customers of all aspects of the YMCA via phone or in person or be instrumental in ensuring customer gets information from correct personResolve problems and concerns for members and staff in a positive and professional mannerAsk every customer for a membership card or State IDAccept and accurately enter receipt information in computerCorrectly register program participants using computer systemPrepare and be responsible for daily cash shift closing and follow shift change proceduresOpen-Close desk area and the building depending on shiftFollow guidelines for guest proceduresMaintain cleanliness of desk area at all timesMust be knowledgeable in emergency procedures in case of fire or injuryAssist in general cleaning tasks as assignedHelp with other tasks as assigned for the good of the YMCALEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:InclusionEngaging CommunityEmotional MaturityQUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 18 years oldProficient computer skillsMust have strong communication skills in person and over the phoneBi-lingual English/Spanish ability is a plusPrevious experience in service-oriented or sales environment preferredAbility to work calmly under all conditionsUse independent initiative and thinkingWork well in a team settingWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment. The employee may have to complete a job where repetitive motions are required.Employee must be able to communicate effectively by speaking and listening. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Obtain Criminal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
