Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Saturday & Sunday with rotating days; Fridays or Mondays Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 3x12s Experience: Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience required. License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: BLS (AHA) required. Must-Have: - Operating room experience, including circulating and scrub roles. - Experience in general, pediatric, and trauma cases. - Experience with Da Vinci robotics. - EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years. Description: The role requires a registered nurse with a specialty in the operating room. The nurse will be part of a team providing care in a fast-paced environment. The average caseload is 35-50 cases per day. Expectations include maintaining turnover times of less than 20 minutes. The facility has 16 operating rooms, typically running 12-14 at a time. As a Level 1 trauma center, it reserves space for trauma cases. Services include cardiac, neuro, orthopedic (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants. Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, plastics, and vascular cases is preferred. The nurse may be required to float across different campuses. The call schedule on weekends is from the end of the shift on Friday until Monday 6:30 AM. Travelers are expected to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.
