Network Engineer

Network Engineer Position

Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP.

In-depth knowledge of networking systems such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, access points.

Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.

Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure.

Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.

Ability to manage several requests simultaneously from design to implementation.

Monitor group request queues, alert notices, and other work request streams for new ad hoc requests.

Regularly communicate status of requests with customers and key stakeholders via ServiceNow, email, Microsoft Teams, and phone as dictated by the severity and circumstances of the request.

Maintain updated documentation of all in-progress and completed requests in appropriate systems.

Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure within company operational guidelines.

Create and maintain system documentation for infrastructure including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.

Identify opportunities for process improvement through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.

Communicates effectively with the stakeholder to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.

Accountable for driving open ad hoc requests through closure.

Help set standards for network engineer activities.

Strong facilitation skills.
