Industrial Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Industrial Maintenance TechnicianThe Industrial Maintenance Technician performs a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities. Technical activities include maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, doors, HVAC, preventative maintenance, and building and grounds maintenance.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Maintains and repairs plant and facility equipment of a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic naturePerforms tool repairs, rebuilds, and other maintenance work.Completes work orders to support plant operations.Participates in group improvement activities, special maintenance projects.Partners with vendors, contractors and external resources as necessaryProvide technical leadership and one-on-one training for less experienced maintenance team membersActs as a backup for the Maintenance LeadPartners with production personnel to troubleshoot equipment and identify solutions.Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on equipmentDiagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustmentsCleans and maintains grounds, parking lots, fencing, building facilities, and vehiclesUses, creates or completes required documentation supporting scheduled or completed work into the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Completes work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documentsOperates material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipmentMaintains current knowledge of maintenance and mechanical repair technologiesAttends meetings and communicates department support needsTroubleshoots complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obviousMust learn, follow, and actively enforce Lock Out Tag Out proceduresMay be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend and call-in workPerforms all other duties as assignedReport any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injuryComplete all required training in a timely mannerAdhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)Qualifications/minimum requirements include:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical degree in Technical/Engineering discipline preferredMinimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance, mechanics, or electrical requiredValid driver's license and insuranceProficiency in Machining, Welding, Fabrication, Piping, PLC, and ElectricalAbility to operate Forklift, scissors, and aerial liftAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbersIntermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheetsStrong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and blue print reading skillsStrong technical understanding, equipment maintenance, power tool, and welding skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with automated equipment and power equipmentAbility to multi-task and prioritize under pressureAbility to work in cross-functional teamsGood organization and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented natureAble to work autonomouslyAbility to travel if neededAbility to work overtime as needed including weekend and call-in work if necessary.Physical requirements include:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls.Frequently required to walk, bend and reach with hands and armsConstantly required to talk and hearConstantly sitting for long hoursConstantly lift and/or move up to 10 poundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 30 poundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 60 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus naturally or with correction.Please note that these physical requirements are representative but not exhaustive.
