Position
Chief Financial Officer – Clarksburg, MD office. The CFO will oversee the financial health and growth of all TDSI companies and product lines within a shared‑service environment. Working with the executive team, the CFO ensures each business line meets or exceeds financial targets, including order intake, annual revenue, EBIT, and cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support TDSI Core Values & Code of Ethics.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and other executive team members. Effectively communicate, engage, and interact with the Board of Directors, CEO, and executive team.
- Execute strategic planning, strategy formulation, and market planning. Develop and manage financial plans and budgets that support these activities.
- Conduct regular reviews of program financial health, identify potential business risks, and plan or implement risk mitigation activities.
- Present monthly financial budgeting reports: profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
- Lead and develop the multi‑year budget process and forecasts in collaboration with operations and functional heads.
- Responsible for profit and cash flow planning and management for multiple business units and/or legal entities.
- Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations for short‑term and long‑term growth plans. Participate in evaluating long‑term investment opportunities within the business structure.
- Ensure financial soundness of new business acquisitions and follow‑on opportunities.
- Present financial performance to Boards, Thales USA, Global Business Units & Business Lines.
- Act as primary point of contact for the annual financial audit and Thales Group Internal Audit.
- Serve as member of the Thales USA benefits and investment committee representing the interests of the Proxy companies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The CFO provides senior leadership for the finance departments and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Activities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance appraisals; rewarding and providing discipline when required; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active mentoring and staff development are critical elements of the supervisory role.
Qualifications
- US citizenship required. Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must be eligible for access to classified information promptly upon hire.
- Completed bachelor’s degree; master’s degree desired.
- 15+ years of demonstrated success in the financial organization of a US federal government contractor, preferably with multiple business lines.
- ERP financial system experience (G/L, A/P, AR) required; SAP S/4 HANA highly preferred.
- Ability to foster teamwork across functional areas and with other Thales entities.
- Expertise in finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including GAAP, FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, and IAS. Ability to analyze financial data and direct preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections. Working knowledge of short‑ and long‑term budgeting, forecasting, rolling budgets, and product‑line profit analysis.
- Experience in evaluating and deciding on mergers & acquisitions or other business growth opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 20% of the time.

The work environment includes different buildings on the Clarksburg, Maryland campus, requiring travel between buildings for meetings. The campus contains manufacturing floors and engineering labs with materials such as isopropanol alcohol, adhesives, solder, fluxes, epoxies, RTV, plastics, metals, batteries, wires, and components.
Compensation
The annualized pay range for this role is $318,237–$406,636 USD, with a target incentive compensation plan of 30%.
