Maintenance Seasonal – Headwaters Ice Rink (Riverfront) Schedule/Hours: 15–30 hours per week | Varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidaysDo you enjoy hands-on work, helping people have fun, and keeping a high-energy environment running smoothly-especially in a unique, winter-focused setting?What You'll Do Support daily operations at the Headwaters Ice Rink by helping maintain the ice, assist guests, and keep the facility safe, welcoming, and ready for skaters of all ages.Key ResponsibilitiesOpen, close, and help secure the ice rink facilityAssist with ice maintenance, resurfacing, and general rink preparationOperate or learn to operate a Zamboni and related ice maintenance equipmentProvide friendly, professional customer service to skaters and guestsSupport admissions, skate rentals, concessions, and inventory needsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAssists with supervision and training of staff and volunteers as neededWhat You Bring – Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED, or equivalent experienceOne to three months of related work experience or training preferredPreferred CertificationsFirst Aid and CPR certification (American Heart Association) or ability to obtain within two weeks of hireValid Indiana Driver's LicenseTechnical Skills & KnowledgeWillingness and ability to learn Zamboni operation quicklyStrong communication skills and attention to detailComfort working in a customer-facing, team-oriented environmentAbility to sharpen rental skatesWhy Work for the City of Fort WayneBe part of a signature Riverfront attraction and seasonal destinationFlexible, part-time hours ideal for students, retirees, and supplemental income seekersHands-on experience in facility operations and event supportWork with a Parks & Recreation team focused on safety, service, and community funEqual Opportunity EmployerEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable drug screening, physical examination, and background checks.
