Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a rural critical access hospital, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a short-term acute care, Level IV Trauma Center hospital
• ICU patient ratios of 1:2-3 depending on acuity
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 6 weekend shifts required per schedule period
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to assist on the Med-Surg unit when ICU census is low, typically limited to 1-2 patients
• Will not serve in the Charge Nurse role, as the facility uses a unified Charge Nurse model
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Must be competent in caring for critically ill adult patients in a rural critical access hospital setting
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Function as a bedside ICU nurse providing care to critically ill adult patients
• May be asked to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Wear navy blue scrubs as an RN
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time off may not be accommodated
