3rd Shift Quality Control Technician

Structural Steel InspectorInspect structural steel parts and assemblies during pre-fabrication and post-fabrication. Maintain formal documentation of all quality occurrences for improvement, training, and company betterment.Adhere to PDM's Core Values:Relationship Building: We foster long-term positive relationships with fellow employee-owners, external partners and our communities.Accountability: We consistently demonstrate a high level of personal accountability.Urgency: We operate with a sense of urgency.Innovation: We embrace growth and change.Create Return on Efforts: We create positive results on all our efforts.Pillars: 1) Safety, 2) Quality, 3) Happiness, 4) PerformanceResponsibilities and Areas of Accountability:Learn & understand company safety policies and procedures and promote compliance.Assist in the transformation of the shop floor culture to one of Continuous Improvement and Accountability.Demonstrate reliability through exceptional attendance.Embrace and enhance a positive culture.Become proficient in AWS D1.1 welding standardsMaster documentation of Quality Control testing and inspection records.Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings.Perform housekeeping responsibilities and implement/follow 5S organizational methodology.Mark products with identification and appropriate visual markings per PDM's Quality Control documentation.Conduct and maintain documentation of: pre-fabrication inspections, post-fabrication inspections, shop drawing corrections, tape measure calibration, mill tester calibration, stud welding tests.Inform management of any nonconformity of product or equipment issues.Perform duties in a professional manner.Work closely with management to ensure that all Quality Control duties are performed.Work closely with production personnel on meeting and exceeding product quality.Support safety and production programs.Knowledge & Skills:Blueprint reading/interpretationComprehension of AWS weld calloutsInterpreting section and projected views of a 2D drawingGMAW (MIG) Welding ExperienceMinimum 6+ months on the job experience in flat and horizontal positionsFCAW (fluxcore) is a plusGeneral use of hand and power toolsAngle grinder, hammers, chisels, pry bars, clampsLayout toolsTape measure, squares, bevel squares, levels (all within 1/16")Oxy/Fuel Cutting TorchSafe operation and ability to cut materials ranging in ¼"-1" in thicknessForklift Experience is a plusOverhead crane operation is a plusGeneral understanding of safe practices, methods and use of PPEBasic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Applicants must be able to walk and stand on feet for extended period of time, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs, crawl on hands and knees, climb a ladder and be able to work long hours.
