Description: Billing Specialist (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our growing healthcare team. This fully remote position is responsible for managing the medical billing process, ensuring timely claim submission, payment posting, account follow-up, and resolution of insurance and patient billing issues. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Submit and monitor insurance claims for accuracy and timely reimbursement
Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed
Post insurance and patient payments accurately
Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and appeals
Generate and review billing reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations
Assist patients with billing questions and payment arrangements when necessary
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding support

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required
Experience with plastic surgery, cosmetic, dermatology, or specialty practice billing preferred
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles
Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, and patient collections
Proficiency with EMR and practice management software
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
