The firm is seeking an experienced Tax Director with strong leadership capabilities who is ready to step into a high-impact role and play a pivotal part in the firm’s next chapter of growth. The firm is seeking an experienced Tax Director with strong leadership capabilities who is ready to step into a high-impact role and play a pivotal part in the firm’s next chapter of growth. Wealth positioning: The Tax Director is a key in-office leadership hire, brought on as part of a long-term succession plan with a genuine, performance-based path to Partner. Rather than a fixed timeline, advancement is tied to demonstrated leadership and impact - giving a strong performer real influence over how quickly that path unfolds. You will lead a team of 6-15 professionals and oversee a broad book of work spanning individual, business, and trust/estate tax, plus advisory services for a high-value, wealth management client base - offering more sophisticated, varied work than a typical tax leadership role. You’ll work closely with a collaborative leadership team dedicated to modernizing and expanding the firm’s capabilities, with the firm’s sole owner retaining final decision-making authority. Ideal candidates are accomplished tax professionals with proven leadership skills who are eager to guide the firm through this exciting period of growth and transition. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage tax engagements, delivering premium tax services - individual, business, trust/estate, and advisory - to a diverse range of clients. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional advisory services and insights. Mentor, coach, and manage a team of 6-15 professionals across multiple locations, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Stay current on tax legislation and industry trends to deliver proactive, innovative solutions. Partner with firm leadership to execute strategic initiatives and strengthen the firm’s market position. Participate in business development efforts and networking to support long-term growth. Requirements Active CPA license. 9+ years of public accounting tax experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Commitment to exceptional client service and team development. Benefits Base compensation: $200,000-$250,000, commensurate with experience. Bonus: Performance bonuses paid in June and December, based on individual and firm performance. Profit share: Additional share of firm profits. Path to Partner: A genuine, performance-based path to equity partnership as part of a planned ownership transition - timeline driven by impact, not a fixed schedule.
