The PA will perform duties as first assist in the OR under the direction of the Orthopedic Surgeon. Obtains, compiles, and records patient medical data, health history, progress notes, and results of the examination Instructs and counsels patients about the prescribed therapeutic regimens Assists Orthopedic Surgeon during surgery or complicated medical procedures Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) a strong desire to practice patient-centered medicine a eagerness to work with team members a high degree of initiative, discretion and judgment a ability to multitask and effectively manage competing demands a overall commitment to excellence. Work environment Typical professional medical clinic environment Ambulatory Surgery Center Physical demands Must be able to lift at least 50+ lbs. Moving patients, lifting and helping patients with needs, lifting and moving heavy x-ray equipment, transporting patients Frequently on your feet standing and walking Travel required Weekly to Carmel, Greenwood, and Mooresville. 2 days of OR in Carmel and 3 days of clinic in Greenwood/Mooresville.
