Staffing ratios are 1:7. The unit focuses on Med Surg, Renal, and Diabetes patients. The role will involve working weekdays, every other weekend, and holiday shifts as required. Certifications required include BLS and ACLS through an approved organization. The candidate must have proficiency in EPIC with no exceptions. Skills required for this position include IV starts and telemetry interpretation. There is a need for two years of nursing experience, including travel experience. The candidate must be prepared to manage wide varieties of medical and surgical cases requiring telemetry monitoring. Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, SBO, diabetes, cellulitis, wounds, ESRD, and oncology without IV chemotherapy. Special procedures include blood administration, heparin gtts, and central line care. The facility emphasizes teamwork and interdisciplinary support. Fit testing is required, and the facility cannot accommodate certain types of fit testing equipment. A telemetric evaluation will be part of the onboarding process, with specific testing parameters outlined. The daily patient census averages around 28, with various patient care responsibilities involved. All shifts will include a mix of patient care and administrative duties as assigned.
