Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role offers a balance of independence and teamwork, supporting patients across northern New Jersey while collaborating with a small, supportive team of two RTs and the General Manager.

Key highlights

Work Arrangement: On-site. Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible. Travel: Sussex, Passaic, and Essex Counties; northern New Jersey. Salary range $40 – $47 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. On-Call transparency Alternates weekly; supports northern New Jersey region.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NJ RT license
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
• Education Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
