Location: Garland, TX 75042
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $30/Hr+ DOE

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support manufacturing operations by managing the procurement of raw materials and components needed to meet production demands. This position works closely with operations, production, and suppliers to ensure materials are available on time, inventory levels are maintained, and purchasing activities support efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing purchasing experience, strong ERP skills, and the ability to drive supplier performance, cost savings, and inventory improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials and components to support production schedules and customer demand.

• Review and maintain material requirements based on weekly, monthly, and long-term production forecasts.

• Work closely with suppliers to improve delivery performance and expedite critical materials.

• Create, maintain, and update purchase orders within the ERP system (JDE).

• Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to improve schedule adherence and reduce costs.

• Verify materials are ordered according to customer forecasts and production requirements.

• Communicate delivery schedules and material availability to plant leadership and operations teams.

• Evaluate supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify and mitigate pricing risks while leading cost-saving opportunities.

• Monitor raw material aging and help minimize spoilage or excess inventory.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve material flow and reduce lead times.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.

• Strong ERP experience, preferably with JDE (JD Edwards).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience working with MRP systems and production schedules.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Excellent communication and supplier management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
