Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the OR, in line with policy and professional standards.
- Formulate an individualized perioperative plan of care, including the discharge plan, through collaboration with the patient, family, and health team.
- Initiate and carry out care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with perioperative education for patients and families and participate in ongoing professional development and mentoring when appropriate.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (Arizona) or eligible compact/license-transfer equivalent.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 90 days of start date if pediatrics is assigned to ASC services.
- Education: Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (or higher).
- Experience: Minimum one year of licensed RN experience in the OR for core/FT/PT roles; PRN roles require at least two years in the OR. New graduates or RNs without OR experience may enroll in the PeriOp101 program and must complete it within four months.
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting and to meet the physical demands of perioperative nursing.
