Senior Software Engineer - INTL India

Job Description An Insight Global Fortune 500 Retail client is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer with strong experience building and deploying scalable cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Elasticsearch, and Cloud Spanner, with hands-on experience supporting platform modernization and migration initiatives. Key Project Focus: Backend transformation initiative involving migration from Elasticsearch to Cloud Spanner while modernizing services on GCP.

• Participate in a large-scale backend modernization and transformation initiative
• Support migration efforts from Elasticsearch to Cloud Spanner
• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, and fellow engineers to implement scalable solutions
• Monitor application performance and support production environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production systems

• 4-6 years of software engineering experience focused on backend development
• Strong proficiency in Java 17 • Experience developing RESTful microservices using Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

○ Open to AWS or GCP

• Experience working with Cloud Spanner
• Strong knowledge of Elasticsearch
• Experience migrating systems, data, or services involving:

• Elasticsearch
• Cloud Spanner
• Or both technologies

• Experience working with Claude AI or similar LLM/GenAI technologies Proven experience deploying applications through the full software development lifecycle, including production deployment and support • Knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) concepts and technologies • Experience with application or database performance tuning and optimization Familiarity with AI/ML-driven application development Insight Global
