Part-Time Showroom & Customer Sales Associate
Location: Atascadero, California
Employment Type: Part-Time
Reports To: Store Manager / Owner

Position Summary

My client is seeking a dependable, friendly, and organized Part-Time Showroom & Customer Service Associate to assist customers and support the daily operations of our flooring showroom.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing excellent customer service, and helping customers navigate their flooring options. Flooring experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering the showroom and determine how we can assist them.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to basic customer questions.
• Assist customers with carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, and other flooring products.
• Help customers locate samples and understand basic product differences.
• Collect customer information and enter leads into the company's system.
• Schedule appointments, estimates, and measurements.
• Follow up with customers regarding appointments, samples, and outstanding questions.
• Assist sales representatives with customer files, quotes, samples, and paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and organized showroom.
• Return flooring samples to their proper locations.
• Update product displays and sample areas as needed.
• Assist with receiving and organizing samples and small deliveries.
• Perform basic administrative and data-entry duties.
• Help maintain accurate customer records.
• Support promotional events and special sales.
• Perform other reasonable duties necessary to support showroom operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail, customer service, administrative, or sales experience preferred.
• Flooring, home improvement, construction, or interior design experience is a plus but not required.
• Friendly and professional communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn flooring products and terminology.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

• Standing and walking throughout portions of the workday.
• Moving and organizing flooring samples and displays.
• Performing routine showroom and office activities.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position . The work schedule may include:

• Weekdays
• Evenings
• Saturdays and/or Sundays
• Holidays or promotional events as needed

Approximately 15–25 hours per week , depending on business needs and employee availability.

Compensation

Starting Pay: $20 per hour plus a bonus for sales that generate during your shift.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will comply with applicable California wage-and-hour requirements.
