Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Dallas, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 15, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric CICU RN with congenital heart disease and post-op cardiac management experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Dallas.Details\n \n Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU and step-down unit within a Children's Hospital tower\n 27-bed unit with acuity adaptive staffing model caring for ICU and step-down level patients\n Patient ratios of 1:2, 1:1, and at times 1:3\n Uses Medfusion and Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom beds, hard cribs and cribettes, GE radiant warmers, Somanetics NIRS machines, and Servo U ventilators\n Meditech EMR used\n Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM\n Rotating weekends required (day shift Saturday and Sunday, night shift Friday and Saturday)\n No on-call requirements\n Floating required to PICU, NICU, pediatric med surg, and pediatric oncology\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand\n Current certifications: PALS, BLS, and ACLS\n Minimum 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse required, with 3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU preferred\n Minimum 2 years of PICU experience as a staff nurse required\n Experience caring for congenital heart disease patients and post-operative CHD management required\n Experience managing arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines required\n 2+ years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience preferred\n 1+ year experience with neonatal cardiac patients (pre- and post-op) preferred\n 2+ years of pediatric cardiac step-down or cardiology floor experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Perform procedures including central and arterial line placement, conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, post-op recovery for general and cardiac procedures, sternal closures, codes, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, and manual PD\n Compassionate, hardworking, meticulous, and adaptable team players are ideal fits for this unit\n Royal blue scrub attire required\n Must reside 50+ miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-745658.
