Job Description

Dallas LIFE Mission StatementDallas LIFE offers complete homeless recovery through Christian accountability-based programs.

General Purpose of Position:

Works with the Daycare Director to promote the educational and social development of the children enrolled into Dallas LIFE Program.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises the classroom
• Oversees unstructured free play, ensure organization of free play corresponds to schedule structured activities.
• Implement activities based on the child's knowledge and development
• Opens classroom in the morning, greets parents and children, assists in making smooth transition.
• Assists with meals, toileting, hand washing
• Attends staff meetings, training meetings, and yearly open house even if scheduled outside work hours.
• Participates in classroom staff meetings to consult on program planning, goal setting and implementation, planning for individual children and to discuss program and working conditions.
• Performs general housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other duties necessary to the smooth functioning of the facility assigned by the Daycare Director.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

• Must participate in 20 clock hours per year of training through course or workshop relating to early childhood education.
• Submit to a background check
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Obtain certifications in Pediatric First Aid and CPR within 6 months of employment.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of guidelines and licensing and regulations
• Ability to communicate and receive information and ideas via oral and written methods.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as in climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as needed in the daily care of children.
• Ability to cope with a stressful environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills as outlined in duties on this job description.

Education and/or Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of recommended Dallas LIFE training.

Pay per hour: 16.00

Hours per week: 29
