Job OverviewOur organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Post Intensive Care Unit III at our New Brunswick campus. This unit, also referred to as the Respiratory Care Unit, features 19 beds equipped with bedside monitoring and the capacity for step-down ICU and progressive care. We provide care for a diverse range of medical patients, including those with ALS, chronic ventilator needs, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal.
QualificationsRequired:- Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proficient in computer skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
- A minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Experience in telemetry and intermediate care
- Prior experience with ventilators
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
- Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
- Monday to Friday, with some weekends and holiday rotations
- Part-time position
- The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while upholding ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, while taking responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and available resources.
- Responsible for reporting safety concerns, such as hazardous conditions and medical errors.
- Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
- Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other healthcare providers.
- Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable outcomes for improvement.
- Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
