Sr. Estimator

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects, including labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Analyze project plans and specifications, and identify any potential risks, opportunities, or discrepancies.
• Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather relevant information and clarify project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, and negotiate terms and prices.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals and supporting documents to clients and follow up on the status and outcome of the bids.
• Review contracts and change orders ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.
• Manage and update the estimation database and software, and maintain accurate records of bid documents, revisions, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on latest industry trends, best practices, and market conditions, and adjust estimation strategies accordingly.

• Bachelor degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum ten plus years of experience estimating construction projects, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector.
• Proficient in using estimation software, such as HCSS, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations, especially related to concrete work.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Physical capability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, type, bend, and occasionally lift up to twenty pounds.
