Job Description Summary Position: Class A Delivery Driver (Equipment Rental) Responsibilities Deliver and recover equipment at the customer site. Load, unload, and secure the equipment. Transport equipment and supplies locally or over long distances. Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on malfunctioning equipment at the jobsite. Conduct daily commercial vehicle inspections and complete necessary repairs to ensure operational safety. Demonstrate and adhere to Customer Service Standards for delivery service. Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pickup and exchange forms. Explain proper and safe equipment usage to customers at the point of delivery. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager or authorized personnel. Complete inspection reports, log books, and trip sheets in accordance with D.O.T. and company record‑keeping requirements. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Proficient in reading, writing, and effective communication. Valid Driver’s license with Class A CDL certification and DOT Physical Examination (Medical card). Working knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations and DOT guidelines. Familiarity with local major and minor roadways and ability to use maps and directions efficiently for delivery routing. Experience driving delivery trucks, towing tandem‑axle utility trailers, and towable construction equipment within high‑traffic or congested city zones and small areas. Prior training or experience with similar commercial equipment (preferred). Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or community members. Ability to present information effectively to upper management. Competence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Two years of over‑the‑road experience operating combination commercial vehicles (preferred). Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Maintain a safe driving record and demonstrate defensive driving techniques to protect equipment and other drivers. High level of safety awareness on the roadways. Positive “Can Do” attitude and willingness to exceed customer expectations. Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment and vehicle. Experience operating heavy construction machinery within the rental industry and understanding of load securement and transport. Compensation Base Pay Range: $27.07 – $40.59 per hour (starting rate may vary by location, education, training, and experience).
