Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses are invited to bring their perioperative nursing expertise to a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for an OR RN who enjoys caring for a broad adult and geriatric surgical population, including trauma, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, oncology, and robotic procedures. Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
• Assignment Dates: November 9, 2026 – February 8, 2027
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370 per week
• Schedule: Four 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Hours: Straight evenings, 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
• Call: Required; up to four weeknight calls and two weekend call shifts per four-week schedule. Weekend call is scheduled in 8-hour blocks.
• Healthcare Setting: 22-room operating department within a Level I Trauma Center
• Patient Population: Primarily adults and geriatric patients
• Floating: Not required

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license required at the time of submission; compact licenses are not accepted
• At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience
• General OR and trauma nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Epic electronic health record charting experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• CAC certification required
• Two manager or supervisor references required; charge nurse references are not accepted
• All required certifications must be active before the assignment start date
• Flu vaccination is required in accordance with assignment requirements

Operating Room Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, skilled perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical process
• Support general, trauma, orthopedic, urologic, plastic, ophthalmic, oncology, and robotic surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for scheduled and emergent cases
• Perform circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse duties according to department needs and demonstrated competencies
• Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, specimen handling, universal protocol, fire safety, and surgical time-out standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams
• Use equipment such as Da Vinci robotic systems, laparoscopic equipment, C-arm, O-arm, Stryker and Storz systems, and instrument tracking technology
• Respond effectively to high-acuity trauma and urgent surgical cases while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
• Participate in assigned weeknight and weekend call coverage
