Quality Assurance Tester

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Tester to join our team. This role requires a strong foundation in manual testing, API testing , test strategy and planning, release ownership, and defect management, along with the ability to support automation bug fixes and maintenance using TypeScript and Playwright . The ideal candidate will be capable of working across complex application architectures, driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle, and leading QA efforts for a project from planning through execution. Key Responsibilities Lead QA activities for a project, including planning, coordination, execution, reporting, and overall quality ownership. Develop comprehensive test plans and create detailed test cases for complex applications and distributed systems. Execute manual regression testing and API testing within defined timelines and provide test execution reports and release sign-off. Take ownership of release testing, including end-to-end validation, coordination with stakeholders, and final quality assessment. Perform complete manual testing activities, including smoke testing, regression testing, feature validation, exploratory testing, defect verification, and API validation . Review existing automation suites and support automation bug fixes, maintenance, and basic script updates using TypeScript and Playwright . Quickly understand and work within existing manual and automation test suites. Identify, troubleshoot, and help stabilize flaky automation test cases to improve reliability and pass rates. Perform detailed log analysis using tools such as Splunk to support defect investigation and root cause analysis. Validate data using database schemas and querying tools as part of functional and backend testing. Perform defect triage, validation, and re-testing, ensuring timely and thorough resolution. Define, track, and report quality assurance metrics, including defect trends, defect counts, test results, and test execution status. Ensure defects are documented with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and sufficient diagnostic details to support efficient resolution. Collaborate closely with development, product, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Use QMetry or similar test management tools to organize, track, and report testing activities. Promote a quality-first mindset through critical thinking, proactive risk identification, and effective stakeholder communication. Required Experience 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong expertise in manual testing, API testing, and working knowledge of test automation support. Proven experience in test planning, test case design, regression execution, release testing, API validation, and quality reporting for complex systems. Hands-on experience working with automation frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright , particularly for maintenance, debugging, and minor script fixes. Experience working in fast-paced delivery environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong understanding of QA processes across the full SDLC. Technical Skills Strong manual testing experience across functional, regression, exploratory, release, and API testing. Working knowledge of TypeScript and hands-on exposure to Playwright for automation maintenance and bug fixing. Strong understanding of front-end and back-end testing concepts. Experience validating APIs using tools such as Postman or equivalent API testing frameworks Experience using Splunk or similar log analysis tools for troubleshooting and investigation. Good understanding of database schemas and experience with SQL or other querying tools. Ability to review, maintain, and troubleshoot existing automation frameworks and test suites. Experience with QMetry or similar test management tools. Professional Skills Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
