Director of Distribution Operations

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Distribution Operations to lead and optimize our end-to-end distribution network. This executive-level leader will oversee all warehouse and distribution functions while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, scalability, and profitability across the organization. This is an opportunity for an experienced operations leader to make a measurable impact in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment within the wine and spirits distribution industry. What You’ll Do As the Senior Director of Distribution Operations, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading all systems, processes, and teams that support a scalable and efficient distribution network. Key Responsibilities Direct all warehouse and distribution operations including: Picking & packing Shipping & receiving Replenishment Production Returns processing Inventory control Facility maintenance Establish and maintain measurable performance standards and KPIs to ensure accountability and exceed client SLAs Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability Lead process automation and operational optimization strategies Manage planning and control systems related to the flow of materials from receiving through shipping Oversee labor planning, operating expenses, forecasting, budgeting, and full P&L management Partner with Client Relations and Sales teams to onboard and implement new clients successfully Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and long-term operational planning Analyze capacity planning, capital equipment needs, forecasting, and organizational processes Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards Develop scalable operational plans to support peak seasons and future business growth Anticipate future staffing, systems, and process requirements as the business evolves What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of related leadership experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Proven experience leading large-scale distribution or warehouse operations Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities Experience with Lean methodologies and Six Sigma principles Knowledge of regulatory compliance, operational controls, and industry standards Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, and P&L responsibilities Demonstrated leadership experience within a unionized workforce environment Preferred Experience Wine & Spirits industry knowledge preferred Understanding of wine varietals, spirits categories, and beverage distribution operations Experience leading operational transformation and automation initiatives Union Workforce Experience What Success Looks Like Building a scalable, high-performing distribution network Driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement Delivering exceptional service levels and customer satisfaction Developing strong teams and future operational leaders Supporting aggressive growth while maintaining profitability and compliance Why Join Us?
