Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking two experienced Registered Nurses with open heart surgery experience to provide critical care in an ICU setting. The role involves managing post-op cardiac patients with various complex conditions in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor critically ill cardiac patients, including post-CABG, valve surgeries, and Impella/IABP support.
• Interpret EKG strips, including telemetry and dysrhythmia analysis, ensuring timely interventions.
• Administer medication, IV therapies, and manage ventilator support per protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver family-centered, quality care.
• Document patient progress accurately in EPIC and other electronic health records.
• Float within hospital units as needed, supporting high-risk respiratory and COVID-19 care teams.

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio RN license or equivalent compact license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience with open heart post-op patients.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or BSN required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.
• Successful completion of an online EKG tele competency assessment.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system required.
