About the Position

Job Title: RN ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment. Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Complexity of work requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Unit handles kidney transplants, complex surgeries, and general but complicated surgical procedures. The unit is a 16 bed ICU, with an expansion to an 18 bed ICU planned for early 2024.
