Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Extrusion Operator role based in Somerville, NJ. The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion machinery to produce plastic packaging components to specification. Day-to-day tasks include loading raw materials, adjusting machine settings, inspecting product quality, and performing minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting. The role involves using hand tools, following production schedules, documenting operating data, and adhering to safety protocols and standard operating procedures. The Extrusion Operator collaborates with production and quality teams, communicates issues promptly, and helps maintain a clean, organized work area to support efficient manufacturing operations. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in machine operation and extrusion processes, with the ability to set up, run, and adjust extrusion equipment safely and efficiently. Experience using basic hand tools for routine adjustments, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance on production machinery. Strong commitment to quality control, including performing visual and dimensional inspections, identifying defects, and following documented quality standards. Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members, report issues, and follow written and verbal instructions. Previous experience in manufacturing or plastics processing is preferred; familiarity with packaging production is a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced production environment while following all safety guidelines. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or industrial operations is beneficial.
