Registered Nurse ER .3 FTE (MID shift)

LPN Position

Performance standards include planning work assignments to meet patient and peer needs, effective communication in the acute care area and other hospital departments, administration of policies and procedures, forecasting special equipment and supplies, utilizing medical, surgical, and pediatric skills for patient care, coordinating daily patient care, organizing time effectively, identifying patient, physician, and staff needs, adhering to standards of care, following hospital and nursing department policies, identifying deficiencies in patient care, participating in committees, completing RN/LPN chart review, communicating effectively with staff, notifying supervisors of critical changes, serving as a professional role model, participating in nursing care assessment, identifying and meeting patient needs, maintaining self-motivation, attending in-service programs, developing delegation skills, participating in goal setting, recommending activities to benefit nursing staff, obtaining and completing nursing assessments, providing appropriate teaching, recognizing and acting on symptoms, prioritizing and solving patient care problems, taking responsibility for activities and following hospital policies, interacting with team members, checking narcotics, teaching and orienting co-workers, participating in continuing education, and ensuring proper documentation.

General responsibilities include reporting for scheduled shifts on time, wearing proper uniform, adhering to meal breaks, varying work schedule, ensuring overtime approval, scheduling time off, adhering to attendance policies, performing assigned duties, wearing ID badge, attending meetings, participating in in-services, reading communications, assisting patients and staff, demonstrating teamwork, following infection control procedures, adhering to environmental care standards, being familiar with collective bargaining agreement, adapting to age-specific patient populations, and meeting physical requirements and working conditions.

Position qualifications include graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, a minimum of one year acute care nursing experience, current state nursing licensure, ACLS and PALS certification, TNCC within one year, CPR certification, clear and effective communication, ability to delegate and coordinate, ability to communicate with diverse backgrounds, and potential for a career path in nursing.
