A well-established regional healthcare organization near Albany, NY is seeking a skilled Histotechnologist / Histotech to join its pathology laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals looking to work in a collaborative hospital environment with access to advanced testing, modern equipment, and strong leadership support.


This full-service healthcare facility provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to a large surrounding community and maintains a high-volume laboratory supporting surgical pathology, biopsies, and specialty testing services. The histology department plays a critical role in patient diagnosis and treatment planning while offering team members stability, professional growth, and a strong sense of purpose.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination
• Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation
• Maintain quality control standards and laboratory documentation
• Ensure proper specimen handling and adherence to safety protocols
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment

Job Requirements

• ASCP certification preferred (HT or HTL)
• Previous histology experience preferred
• Knowledge of tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining techniques
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory setting
