Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography)

Overview Position located at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Killeen, TX. Responsibilities Conduct a variety of polysomnography tests. Prepare, calibrate, interface, and operate all equipment used in polysomnographic procedures. Explain procedures and position patients to ensure comfort for optimal EEG recording. Record significant observations such as sleep stage, heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation level, body position, and presence/absence of sleep apnea, snoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and night terrors. Calibrate and maintain respiratory equipment. Interpret data obtained from all-night recordings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications US Citizens. One year of specialized experience conducting polysomnography tests, analyzing results, or maintaining equipment. Or one and a half years of graduate education in Polysomnography, Sleep Technology, or a related field. Or a combination of education and experience equal to at least 100% of the requirements.
