Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Education Center in Holtsville, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.12 / Hour

DayTimeSat03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, student and/or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant activity according to site guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to control access, observe daily activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Support school operations by assisting with after-hours checks, special events, and/or arrival and dismissal activity while maintaining a professional presence and clear communication with site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A state, county, or city issued security professional license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
