Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse for a night shift position at a healthcare facility. This role involves caring for stroke stepdown patients and managing a variety of medical conditions such as altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, and isolation cases. The nurse will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, supporting recovery and stability for acute and chronically ill patients.

Job Details

• Location: Utica, New York
• Shift: Nights (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid New York registered nurse license, active National Licensure Verification System (NYS) report, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to start), at least 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience, documentation of travel experience, current drivers license with matching address, proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system EPIC, skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Preferred Qualifications: None listed.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Candidate must include RTO (Request for Time Off) at the time of submission. Up-to-date resume must document 2+ years of experience and travel history. Scrub color is navy blue. Unit specifics include caring for patients with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, and cases requiring isolation.
