About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active license prior to start date Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience with telemetry monitoring Ability to float between sister units Description: This position is specifically for winter coverage for a 10-week contract only. Local travel radius restrictions are waived for this assignment. The start date is set for December 18, 2026. No holiday time off is allowed. The clinician will float between sister units as needed. The nurse will provide care in an observation unit. Average patient ratios are 1:4-5. The nurse is required to work every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The following skills and competencies are required: - Management of BiPAP/CPAP systems - Administration of blood products - Care and management of central lines - Care of chest tubes - Continuous bladder irrigation - Feeding tube care - Heparin protocols - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation precautions - IV insulin protocols - Management of dysrhythmias - Oxygen administration - Care of pacemakers - Peripheral line management - PICC line management - Pre/Post cardiac catheterization care - Pre/Post hemodialysis management - Management of renal failure - Care of seizure disorders - Management of substance withdrawal - Telemetry monitoring - Wound care and management The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 16 patients. The unit has 17 rooms and 16 beds. Interdisciplinary support is available from various healthcare teams. This role requires flexibility and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
