Job Title: Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor - Southeast Region (260004BF) Organization: Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) Union: 1199 Location Primary: 150 OOD Complex, 150 East Campus View Blvd, Columbus, Ohio 43235. Other Locations: Athens, Ohio; Portsmouth, Ohio; Chillicothe, Ohio. Compensation $29.95/hour (unless required by legislation). Certified candidates eligible for $32.69/hour. Schedule Full-time. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Primary Job Skill Vocational Rehabilitation Duties Interview individuals with disabilities to gather detailed information about work history and medical situation. Determine eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services. Interpret diagnostic information to determine participant needs. Provide counseling to individuals and families regarding strengths, limitations, barriers, and accommodations. Develop comprehensive individualized employment plans (IPE) for participants. Collaborate with community providers to assist participants in achieving goals. Success Profile Highly organized with efficient time management skills. Able to conduct research, analyze technical material and results. Outstanding public relations and customer service skills. Excellent interviewing techniques & computer skills. Works collaboratively and develops rapport. Understanding of the local labor market. Pay Range Hourly: Step 1 $29.95; Step 2 $31.34; Step 3 $32.69; Step 4 $34.35; Step 5 $36.01; Step 6 $37.75. Annual: $62,296; $65,187; $67,995; $71,448; $74,901; $78,520. Location Requirements Columbus BSVI/BVR – 150 East Campus View Blvd. Athens BSVI/BVR – 86 Columbus Road, Athens, Ohio. ODD Portsmouth – 1001 4th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio. OMJ Ross – 475 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, OH. Employees must reside within a reasonable travel distance to reporting location. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, counseling, social work, psychology, disability studies, special education, business administration, human resources, or related field plus 24 months direct experience with individuals with disabilities. OR Master’s degree in related field plus 12 months direct experience with individuals with disabilities.
