GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based occupational therapy services for students attending John F. Kennedy Day School located on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in Cedar Creek, Arizona. The Occupational Therapist will support special education students by providing evaluations, direct therapy services, consultation, IEP participation, progress reporting, and collaboration with school staff and families in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). This position requires onsite services approximately two (2) days per month and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational success and functional development of children with disabilities. Key Responsibilities – Clinical Services Provide direct in-person occupational therapy services to eligible students as specified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Conduct occupational therapy screenings, assessments, initial evaluations, and reevaluations in accordance with Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) timelines and requirements. Observe and evaluate students to identify functional, developmental, sensory, motor, and educational needs. Develop individualized therapy interventions to support student participation and educational achievement. IEP Development & Participation Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP meetings. Develop and implement occupational therapy components of IEPs, including: Present levels of performance Measurable annual goals and objectives Service minutes Accommodations and modifications Narrative descriptions of student needs Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school personnel regarding student progress and recommendations. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate and timely service logs documenting all therapy services provided. Prepare comprehensive written evaluation and reevaluation reports. Submit quarterly student progress reports to the Special Education Department. Maintain all required documentation in compliance with IDEIA, BIE regulations, and school policies. Enter evaluation summaries, IEP information, goals, services, and progress updates into the Native American Student Information System (NASIS). Consultation & Collaboration Provide consultation and technical assistance to teachers, instructional staff, and parents. Supervise and provide guidance to teaching assistants delivering occupational therapy-related activities. Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and classroom accommodations as appropriate. Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to establish and maintain service schedules. Meet regularly with the Special Education Department to discuss student progress and service delivery. Minimum Qualifications – Education Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensure & Certifications Current Occupational Therapy License in the State of Arizona. National Certification in Occupational Therapy. Ability to maintain all required professional credentials throughout the period of performance. Experience Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children. Experience collaborating with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience conducting evaluations, developing IEP goals, and providing school-based occupational therapy services. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in special education environments. Familiarity with IDEA/IDEIA regulations and BIE special education requirements. Experience with electronic student information systems and IEP management platforms. Experience working with Native American communities or rural school districts. Required Skills Pediatric occupational therapy expertise. Knowledge of special education laws and procedures. IEP development and implementation. Student assessment and evaluation. Written report preparation and documentation. NASIS or student information system proficiency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Collaboration and team-building abilities. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a remote educational setting. Work Location John F. Kennedy Day School Cedar Creek, Fort Apache Indian Reservation Approximately 18 miles south of Whiteriver, Arizona Schedule Approximately two (2) onsite days per month.
