Service Engineer

Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Role Objectives: Responsible for repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment associated with the marine propulsion service industry including the following brands: Schottel, Rolls‑Royce, Aquamaster, Steerprop, Ulstien, Brunvoll, ZF… Key Responsibilities: Responsible to handle services to perform quality repairs, commissioning, and/or new construction installation. Perform basic trouble shooting on the marine propulsion equipment listed in the objectives. Making the necessary arrangements and travel to job site for repairs needed. Performing Reporting when necessary. Company credit card issued for job expenses ONLY. (Auto fuel, rental car, airfare, lodging, etc.) Participating in after‑hours callouts or emergency callouts. Able to use company truck for business use and pull trailers with client equipment. Basic electrical, and welding experience a plus. Maintaining the shop and surrounding grounds in good order including building maintenance when needed. Purchasing supplies under the direction of the Field Service Superintendent. Picking up parts and supplies from vendors when necessary. Assisting in hurricane procedures when required. Maintain a clean and organized workplace. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as distances, measurements, percentages, volume. Ability to apply common knowledge to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Valid TWIC and Driver’s License (Passport a plus) Education / Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; or 5 years related experience or training. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Service Engineer is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear, swim. It is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance. The assistant must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
