The Basics

Pay: Depending on experience, you earn $25.00 - $35.00/hour.

Schedule: Typical working hours are from Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm.

What To Expect As A Fleet Truck And Heavy Equipment Mechanic

In this mechanical role, you're responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing our vehicle fleet and equipment to keep our day-to-day smooth and efficient. Your goal is to minimize downtime and complete quality work within a reasonable timeframe. You thoroughly inspect fleet vehicles and machinery, determine any existing or potential problems, and skillfully complete the appropriate repairs and services. As you work on backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, medium-duty trucks, and other equipment, you maintain accurate records of your services performed and parts used.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in fleet trucks and heavy equipment
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Ability to provide tools suitable for heavy equipment maintenance and repair
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and with a team
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one
• Ability to travel within a 25-minute radius of Derry

Welding experience would be preferred, and a CDL would be a bonus!
