CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Job Summary The incumbent serves as a Clinical Supervisor in the Clinical Services Administration, Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). The role involves planning, coordinating, and directing a full range of community behavioral health services responsive to a culturally diverse population. The supervisor manages an interdisciplinary team, provides direct supervision to staff, develops schedules for completion of work, assigns tasks, and establishes priorities. Additional responsibilities include providing direct care and assessment services to individuals, partnering with community stakeholders in crisis situations, participating in community‑based emergency service responses with the Metropolitan Police Department, and attending events or meetings with partner agencies to support community engagement. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and direct a full range of community behavioral health services. Manage and supervise an interdisciplinary team and ensure adequate shift coverage. Develop schedules, assign work, and establish work priorities. Provide direct care and assessment services to clients and community partners. Respond to crises and participate in emergency service responses with the Metropolitan Police Department. Engage with community partners and attend events and meetings to support community partnership and engagement. Qualifications Applicants must have successfully completed a four‑year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in a health‑related or allied science field. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level is required. The position requires a licensed clinician, such as LICSW, psychologist, RN, LPC, etc. Position Designation and Screening This position is deemed “Protection Sensitive” pursuant to Section 410 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations. In addition to general suitability screening, applicants are subject to the following checks: Criminal background check Traffic record check (as applicable) Pre‑employment drug and alcohol test Reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test Post‑accident or incident drug and alcohol test Return‑to‑duty or follow‑up drug and alcohol test Additional Requirements This position requires a pre‑employment physical examination. Residency Preference: A person applying who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application may receive a 10‑point residency preference over non‑District applicants, unless the preference is declined. Selected individuals must present proof of bona fide District residency and maintain such residency for seven consecutive years from appointment; failure to maintain residency will result in forfeiture of employment.
