Make an impact that benefits your entire community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position focuses on supervising bridge inspections and ensuring that structures remain safe and well documented. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor - Bridge Inspection, you will perform the following duties: * Bridge Inspections: Conduct and supervise inspections of bridges and structural components following NBIS standards * Record Management: Maintain inspection records, photographs, sketches, and required reports with accuracy * Team Supervision: Direct inspection staff, assign tasks, review work, and support employee performance and development * Coordination Work: Communicate with maintenance units, railroads, and project staff to plan access and resolve issues * Equipment Oversight: Ensure inspection tools and vehicles receive proper maintenance and request new equipment when needed * Safety Compliance: Use ladders, lifts, and safety gear correctly while promoting a safe work environment for all involved Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: * Full-time employment * Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. * Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. * Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes). * You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: * One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or * Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or * An equivalent combination of experience and training. Condition of Employment: * This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards. * This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
