Health Care Technician II

Position Health Care Technician II (S). 2nd Shift: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. 30–40 hours per week, Arbor Cottage, Unit 1, Murdoch Developmental Center, Butner, NC. Reports directly to the Unit Manager. Responsibilities Serves as a supervisory technician, monitoring the care of Health Care Technician I’s and providing feedback to staff as needed. Provides specialized direct services to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including behavioral programming, habilitative training/activities, and assistance with health‑care, personal care, and daily living activities. Ensures safety and compliance with facility policies and state regulations. Participates in emergency preparedness and essential staff duties during adverse weather and emergencies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) plus one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation, Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, or North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Sign‑on bonus eligibility requires a newly hired permanent employee to work 30–40 hours per week. Experience working with multi‑handicapped individuals and knowledge of basic health‑care, hygiene, and safety practices are preferred. Benefits and Additional Information Sign‑on bonus up to $2,500, contingent on 2025‑2026 budget approval and eligibility requirements. 2nd Shift schedule – flexibility required for holidays and every other weekend.
