Be one of the first to apply — offer rates tend to be higher at this stage Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a teaching hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of recent L&D experience and NC or compact licensure in hand. Details Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM No blocked scheduling; open availability required Every other weekend required Floating required between High Risk and L&D units Epic charting system used Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required (AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM preferred) Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Manage high-risk and routine labor and delivery patients including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk delivery procedures Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation Care for patients with complex conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Utilize fetal monitoring equipment including external and internal fetal monitoring Scrubs provided in royal blue Orientation occurs bi-weekly First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31) These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
