Position Summary

The HR Generalist will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team and act as a trusted resource for employees and leaders across the organization. This role will have a strong focus on employee relations while also supporting payroll administration, benefits management, employee engagement, learning and development, recruiting, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations.

This position requires a highly detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains strict confidentiality, and possesses exceptional organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a positive employee experience while ensuring HR processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee issues.
  • Partner with leaders to address employee performance concerns and workplace conflicts.
  • Conduct and document employee investigations, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations matters and best practices.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through proactive employee support and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Assist with performance management processes, corrective actions, and employee development discussions.

Payroll Administration:

  • Process and review payroll accurately and timely.
  • Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy of employee records, deductions, and earnings.
  • Partner with Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll-related records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and perform regular audits to ensure data integrity.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Support open enrollment activities and employee benefits education.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit questions and issues.
  • Coordinate with benefit vendors to ensure accurate enrollments and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Employee Engagement:

  • Assist in the development and execution of employee engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Support employee recognition efforts, wellness initiatives, and company events.
  • Analyze employee feedback and recommend improvements to enhance the employee experience.
  • Partner with leadership to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Support employee communications and culture-building initiatives.

Learning & Development:

  • Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Support training initiatives, leadership development programs, and compliance training.
  • Maintain training records and learning management system data.
  • Assist with identifying employee development opportunities and career growth initiatives.
  • Track and report on training participation and effectiveness.

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Prepare reports, audits, and workforce analytics as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with policy administration and HR process improvements.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding employee and company information.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Employee relations
  • Payroll administration
  • Benefits administration
  • Employee engagement
  • Learning and development
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll systems, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • This role is in office 5 days a week.

Preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a multi-site workforce.
  • Experience with employee investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Experience supporting high-growth organizations.
