Overview Position: Food Runner Location: Hotel Oceana Santa Monica (SANTA MONICA, CA 90403) Type: Full‑Time/Part‑Time Education: High School (preferred a GED or hospitality experience) Salary: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour Shift: Any (includes weekends and holidays) Travel: None Food Runner helps ensure a smooth experience by delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables or rooms with efficiency and accuracy. The role supports the restaurant’s commitment to exceptional service at the hotel’s newly renovated dining venue, contributing to guests’ overall dining experience. Responsibilities Deliver food orders from kitchen to tables or rooms efficiently and accurately. Work closely with front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams to uphold service quality. Engage guests, address concerns promptly, and elevate complaints as needed. Maintain and enforce hotel dress and grooming standards. Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage time and work well with others. Friendly, efficient, and high‑touch approach toward guests and team members. Ability to handle regular attendance and punctuality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Respectful and dignified treatment of all guests. Initiative, ownership of tasks, and ability to follow through on commitments. Strong attention to detail with proven time‑management abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED; preferred relevant hospitality experience. Food handling certification (ServSafe) required. Physical Requirements Shift is full‑time; required to stand for several hours continually. Capable of carrying about 35 pounds comfortably; occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Must navigate the property, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary.
