Job Overview Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experience. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being. Eligibility Area of consideration: LOCAL (HAVASUPAI RESIDENTS ONLY) Qualifications High school or GED diploma One year of related experience; or successful completion of a one‑year (two semester) or longer full‑time training program in food service management may be substituted for the one‑year experience requirement. School cook must possess and maintain a valid food handler’s certificate. Must demonstrate ability to follow written and oral instructions. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and be in excellent physical condition. Annual medical examination required. Good distance vision in one eye (glasses permitted) to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid. An amputation of arm, hand, leg, or foot will not disqualify an applicant provided satisfactory prosthesis if necessary. Applicants must possess mental and emotional stability.
