Electrical Engineer II, Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Design

Join us as an Electrical Engineer where you will design test equipment to test circuit boards. Location: This position does not support teleworking; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Sunnyvale CA. You will work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. Key activities you will accomplish in this role Design automated test equipment (ATE), electronic hardware, including signal conditioning equipment and interface with COTS instrumentation for system production tests, system validation and system level field test. Work with a team of engineers to develop Special Test Equipment that requires research, test equipment/system development for a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including Avionics, Control Systems, Telemetry, Electro‑Optical and Radiation Detection Equipment; radio and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components using analog and digital data acquisition and control systems, FPGA, real‑time systems, computers; and control and test equipment. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. 1+ years professional experience. Experience with designing automated test equipment (ATE), electronic hardware, including signal conditioning equipment and interface with COTS instrumentation for system production tests, system validation and system level field test. Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US Citizenship is required. Desired Skills Understanding of Engineering Circuit fundamentals (analog & digital) and of product configuration control processes. Experience with wire harness design and electronics assembly development and integration with the ability to troubleshoot and isolate the root cause of failure along with developing test plans & procedures traceable to the product and system requirements. Familiar and able to operate electrical/electronic test equipment. Experience in using schematic/cabling drafting tools and 3D modeling tools centered in model‑based engineering. Self‑starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision with critical thinking skills in solving complex technical problems. Perform hardware engineering best practices to include requirements analysis, design, and test & integration. Collaborate with subsystems, survivability, environmental and other specialty engineers to develop unique cables for various space products. Experience with interactions, planning and coordination with cross‑functional development teams and internal & external customers across multiple disciplines.
