Job Title

Travel RN – Surgical ICU (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Surgical ICU setting, with assignments determined by patient acuity and nurse skill set
• Operate and monitor ICU equipment including ventilators, CRRT machines, Arctic Sun temperature management systems, and cardiac output monitors
• Assist with and support bedside procedures including central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using the Meditech electronic health record system
• Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1:2, adjusting as needed based on acuity
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy and participate in flexible scheduling planned at least one month in advance

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience caring for surgical patient populations, particularly oncology patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CRRT and hypothermia/targeted temperature management protocols
• Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
• CCRN certification preferred
