Summary - basic function of the role Supervises the daily activities of the indirect material handler and spider. Train the staff personnel and supervise their work to ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, policies, deadlines, also helps in resolving any issues. Responsible for evaluating the performance of the employees. Shift Monday - Friday Job Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets Investigate, identify, and reconcile the cycle count discrepancies, i.e., shortages as well as overages Take care of the inventory areas by organizing and maintaining efficient material handling and storage Implement and maintain policies and procedures related to inventory control Work in tandem with various departments and maintain flexible attitude supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals Ensure that all the employees work towards achieving the objectives related to inventory control management and make suggestions for improvement to management staff Authorize all adjustments for the warehouse made to the inventory Provide direct supervision to the material handlers and spiders, including evaluating performance and giving direction Maintain Workflow's relevant to inventory and assembly lines Implement rack audits and zero locater. Assist in reconciliation of Sub-Inventories Ensure timely picking of tasks Maintain Quality tasks related to adjustments Maintain Slob inventory as needed Support Continuous Improvement Maintain training standards Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to supervise, manage, instruct and lead others Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple and changing deadlines in a fast paced environment Great attention to detail Reliability and willingness to work 40+ hours a week to meet deadlines Ability to build strong internal relationships with other departments Ability and willingness to take initiative Strong and demonstrated leadership skills Forklift Certification Education and Experience Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED equivalent. 3+ years Distribution and Inventory/Warehousing experience Previous lead experience Strong knowledge of WMS system (Oracle) Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a leadership or frontline coaching role within manufacturing. Diverse experience across multiple plant functions (assembly, warehouse operations, material handling, etc.). Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive operational improvements. Self-directed, proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and make informed decisions. Physical Demands Employee will lift 1-50 pounds intermittently and may have to lift documents/work materials up to 70 pounds (assisted lift) in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk, bend and lift for a significant portion of the role. Employee will need manual (hand) dexterity to assemble/repair small parts for long periods of time. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members at all levels within a diverse workforce. Work Environment Employee will be in a manufacturing environment where they may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to electrical shock and vibration. Employee will be exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
