Education LevelNone## Description* **Duties:** Responsible for teaching swimming lessons to all ages (instruct & monitor); Responsible for lifeguarding during swim classes, pool parties and/or public swim times. Implement YMCA practices that ensures the safety and quality of all swimming lessons, assuring program quality by assisting in evaluating all participants; Must be able to make quick decisions and be assertive in enforcing rules & regulations. Ability to maintain level of physical and mental readiness; ability to communicate verbally to large and small groups of members effectively* **Certifications**: YMCA Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) AND Lifeguarding with CPR / AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid or equivalent; Must have both certifications completed by June 2026; Lifeguard & CPR Certification classes are available at the Anaheim Family YMCA* **Hours:** Part time, Non-exempt; hours may vary; Monday-Fridays: 9:30am-7:30pm; Saturdays & Sundays: 9:30am-5:00pm* **Time frame**: Seasonal/Summer Months (April-September)* **Wage**: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour. Depending on experience and acquired certifications* Refer to Job Description for full duties/qualifications of the position available from H.R.## Qualifications* **Qualifications**: Minimum age-16. Recommended 1-3 years of experience teaching swimming and/or lifeguarding. Ability to maintain level of physical and mental readiness, must demonstrate water safety skills in accordance with YMCA standards at all times.
